Survey SampleThe maps show the distribution of the 2019 Native Hawaiian Survey sample compared to the US Census' American Community Survey estimates of the Native Hawaiian population by zipcode.
Note the 2019 Native Hawaiian Survey sample is not a representative sample of all "Native Hawaiians." Instead, the sample is a snowball and convenience sample of individuals living in Hawai'i, 18 years of age or older, and self-identify as having Hawaiian ancestry. The survey and sample were not designed to enable generalizable results or findings. Instead, the study was designed to hear from Hawaiians living in Hawai'i in their own words about being Hawaiian and community concerns. |
